Draft. This policy is being finalised ahead of our first game’s launch. Highlighted text is still to be confirmed.
This policy explains what information Night Class Games (“we”, “us”) collects, why, and what choices you have. It covers this website, nightclassgames.com, and our games, including Grave Harvest on Google Play and Windows (together, “our games”).
1. Who we are
Night Class Games is an independent games studio operated by [your full legal name, trading as Night Class Games / company name and registration number], [postal address], Ireland. We are the data controller for the personal data described in this policy.
Contact: hello@nightclassgames.com
2. This website
This website does not use cookies, advertising or tracking scripts. [If you later enable Cloudflare Web Analytics, say so here: it is cookie-free and does not identify individual visitors.]
The site is hosted by Cloudflare, which processes technical information such as your IP address, browser type and the pages you request in order to deliver the site and protect it from abuse. Cloudflare keeps these logs for a limited period under its own privacy policy.
3. When you email us
If you email us, we receive your email address, your name if you include it, and whatever you write. We use this only to reply and to provide any support you ask for. Email to our domain is routed by Cloudflare and stored with our email provider, [e.g. Google (Gmail)]. We keep correspondence for [24 months] after our last contact, unless we need it longer to resolve a support or legal issue.
4. When you play our games
Game progress and settings
Your progress, settings and preferences are stored on your device. If you delete the game, this data is deleted too. [If you add cloud saves or accounts, describe what is stored, where, and how to delete it.]
Analytics
We use [analytics SDK, e.g. Unity Analytics / Firebase Analytics] to understand how our games are played, so that we can fix problems and improve the experience. This may include your device model, operating system version, approximate country (from your IP address), session length, in-game events such as levels reached, and a randomly generated identifier. It does not include your name or contact details. [State whether analytics runs by default (legitimate interests) or only after consent. Check your SDK's guidance for the EEA.]
Advertising
[Delete this section if the game has no ads.] Our games show ads served by [ad SDK / mediation platform, e.g. Unity LevelPlay, Google AdMob] and its partner ad networks. To show and measure ads, these providers may collect your device’s advertising identifier (Google Advertising ID or, where you allow it, Apple’s IDFA), IP address, device information and how you interact with ads.
- If you are in the EEA, UK or Switzerland, we ask for your consent before showing personalised ads. If you decline, you may still see non-personalised ads.
- On iOS, we ask permission through Apple’s App Tracking Transparency prompt before accessing the IDFA.
- You can change your choice at any time in [Settings › Privacy in the game], and reset or limit your advertising ID in your device settings.
Crash reports
[If used:] If the game crashes, [crash reporting SDK, e.g. Unity Cloud Diagnostics / Firebase Crashlytics] sends us a report with technical details such as the device model, operating system version and what the game was doing at the time, so we can fix the problem.
In-app purchases
[Delete if there are no purchases.] Purchases are processed by Google Play or the Apple App Store. We never see or store your payment details. We receive a transaction record (such as an order ID and the item bought) so we can deliver your purchase and restore it if needed.
5. Services we use
These providers process data on our behalf or as independent controllers. Each has its own privacy policy.

6. Legal bases
Under the GDPR, we rely on:
- Contract: to provide the game and any purchases you make.
- Legitimate interests: to keep our services secure, fix crashes and understand basic usage, where this doesn’t override your rights.
- Consent: for personalised advertising, tracking on iOS, and any non-essential analytics. You can withdraw consent at any time.
- Legal obligation: where the law requires us to keep or disclose information.
7. International transfers
Some of our providers are based outside the European Economic Area, including in the United States. Where data is transferred, it is protected by the EU–US Data Privacy Framework or the European Commission’s Standard Contractual Clauses.
8. How long we keep data
We keep personal data only as long as needed for the purposes above. Data held by analytics and advertising providers is kept according to their retention settings, which we set to [e.g. 14 months] where we can choose.
9. Children
Our games are not directed at children under [13 / 16], and we do not knowingly collect personal data from them. In Ireland, the age of digital consent is 16. If you believe a child has given us personal data, contact us and we will delete it. [Revisit this whole section if your game targets or is likely to appeal to children.]
10. Your rights
Depending on where you live, you have the right to:
- access the personal data we hold about you;
- have it corrected or deleted;
- restrict or object to how we use it;
- receive a copy in a portable format;
- withdraw consent at any time, without affecting earlier processing.
To make a request, email hello@nightclassgames.com. [If the game shows a player or device ID, e.g. in Settings, ask people to include it so you can find their data.] We will reply within one month.
You also have the right to complain to the Data Protection Commission in Ireland (dataprotection.ie) or to the supervisory authority where you live.
11. Security
We use reputable providers and reasonable technical measures to protect your data. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, but we take care to collect as little as we need.
12. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy when our games or the services we use change. The “Last updated” date at the top shows when it last changed. Significant changes will be highlighted in the game or on this site.
